WORKSHOP 1: Talking to Your Doctor about Cannabinoids
In a manner of a few years, much has changed. In 2017, only scientists, botanists, and very few individuals knew much of anything about Hemp and CBD in the US. Your physicians were never trained in the endocannabinoid system. In 2018, The U.S. Farm Bill passed, and Hemp became legal to grow in all fifty states. State regulations vary from state to state, and since the beginning of 2019, CBD has become mainstream here. Universities are dedicating research centers to Cannabis and educational curriculum is being developed and degrees in Cannabis are being offered in top universities around the country.
This workshop outlines the basics and scientific basis for how the human Endocannabinoid system functions and how to talk with your physician about how CBD and cannabis therapies can be beneficial to you and your family, including your pets. WORKSHOP 2: Career Pathways in Cannabis Workshop
In this emerging industry, the opportunities for career pathways are rapidly expanding. The US added 64,389 full-time legal cannabis jobs in 2018, according to a new report from the cannabis website Leafly and the consultancy Whitney Economics. That represented a 44% increase in total positions. That outpaces growth in other sectors in the job market. The marijuana industry is hiring. New data shows 1,242% spike in California job postings according to the Sacramento Bee.
This project came about through our research, new government legislation, and our experience in this field. We are undertaking this project to provide a service to young people today who have opportunities we never dreamed of, and we want to empower and engage them to be better prepared to approach their futures with confidence, vision and an aim to succeed.
